February AD In American Art Collector ~ Ruff Road ~ Amy Tuso ~ Arizona

"Ruff Road"
36" x 36" x 1.5"
Textural Acrylic
Gallery Wrapped ~ No frame needed

The new issue of American Art Collector is out with our current ad. We tried a 1/2 page ad this time and while it looks very nice, I have decided that the full page has much more impact.

I chose "Ruff Road" for this issue as it really depicted what my husband and I were going through after our home invasion in November, which was the time period the February ad had to be submitted.

"Ruff Road" has many, many layers of acrylic and glaze and is highly textured. Every time I look at this piece of art, I see more and more in it that surprises me - and I created it! "Ruff Road" also reminds me that no matter what life hands us, with time and prayer we can walk over the layers and through to the other side. We may emerge somewhat different in a way because of the lessons learned, but we always manage to stand back up - perhaps standing even a little bit stronger than before.

Please take some time and visit my website. I really do want to hear feedback about my art work, so leave me a message and of course, if you want any more info about a certain piece I will get back to you.

May you have a wonderful weekend and may it be filled with light, love and peace....Amy©

"Tin Roof Red Barn" ~ Amy Tuso ~ Daily Painter Of Original Oils and Acrylics

"Tin Roof Red Barn"
18" x 24" x 1.5"
Oil

Last week I received word from Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale that they would like to represent my artwork! Fantastic!

"Tin Roof Red Barn" is a featured new work piece for Xanadu on their website. Another fantastic!! Can you tell that I'm pleased about this new development :}

I've been painting for close to 10 years and when I decided last year to start marketing my art more aggressively, I was filled with many thoughts. There was so much to do to bring my name and my art to the attention of the art world and public. I have a very solid base in business and business management which is proving to be a major blessing. However, there are times when I start feeling overwhelmed with the business aspect and not having enough time to just paint!

I have found that recently I am my own worse enemy in that I place struggles upon myself instead of just taking one step at a time.

In 1996 I experienced a wonderful spiritual journey and during my meditative sauna sweats I began "automatic writing" from Spirit. Recently Spirit reminded me of these writings and directed me into re-reading them. Wow! In reading these dictations again I am amazed at the lessons and teachings.

Yesterday during my meditative morning walk, Spirit told me to stop struggling. I was reminded that the first "automatic writing" was entitled "Struggling". I re-read this piece yesterday and would like to share a portion here with you...

"You're trying too hard - stop struggling. Come within the darkness. Redefine your goals. There is an ancient inside trying to emerge. Look in the mirror, see both male and female sides. Stop questioning and accept. Slow down - moving too fast."

Sitting in reflection, in my minds' eye I see and smell the marshes. In this safe place a final message is given to me. I am told..."Listen with your heart, it will come."

November 1996©

And so, I have listened with my heart and am following my passion...and it has begun...

Have a blessed day filled with light, love and peace...Amy©

"Gatherer" by Amy Tuso~Daily Painter from Fountain Hills, AZ

"Gatherer"
24" x 20" x 1.5"
Oil on Acrylic background

My father had a favorite hymn that I always connected with Thanksgiving as that was the time as children we would sing it in school. I'm not 100% positive of the title by the first few words are..."We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing..."

There are times when I am doing my morning meditative walk around the lake that this song will repeat over and over in my mind, heart and soul. It is during those times that I literally "feel" my father's presence with me and we communicate. To me, reconnecting with my dad is one of the great blessings in my life and I am always left with a feeling of calmness, confidence and love.

Today the Arizona skies have cleared to a beautiful robin's egg blue and the surrounding mountains are snow capped. The air is crisp and clean and the sun is shining brightly! On this crisp, clear, beautiful Sunday morning I ask for the Lord's blessing and am so very grateful for his abundance in my world.

It is my deep intent to plead with God, Great Mystery and the Universe to help heal this nation and its' people. We are in crisis in so many, many aspects! I pray that he blanket us with his love, protection and healing and give thanks.

May you have a blessed Sunday and week ahead...peace, light and love...Amy©

"Reaching" by Amy Tuso~Arizona Daily Painter~Fountain Hills

"Reaching"
36" x 12" x 1.5"
Textural Acrylic

I am so pleased with the way this piece came together. It is part of my texture series that begs to be touched! The colors are super vibrant with many customized colors.

The last few days have been busy with both creating and connecting. I had a request from the Phoenix Herpetological Society to help with their fundraiser and decided to donate 2 of my paintings for the silent auction. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the president of the society and his charming wife. They told me that it is not easy to get funding for their society as they don't have "cutesy" animals but their needs are great as so many people buy reptiles as pets not realizing that they do grow. I was happy to help support their nonprofit organization as all creatures are God's creatures!

The fundraiser will be held on 2/26/10 at the Phoenix Zoo. If anyone is interested in helping or attending, check out their website www.phoenixherp.com

"Little Bronco" by Amy Tuso~Fountain Hills, AZ

"Little Bronco"
16" x 20"
Acrylic

"Little Bronco" came from a photo my husband and I had taken last year at the Prado Del Sol Rodeo in Scottsdale, AZ. This young cowboy was having a great time "breaking the bull" while hanging on with all he had!

I chose turquoise as a main background color as it really speaks of "the west" to me and decided to add some pseudo barbed wire holding the separation of colors within this smile invoking original.

This past Saturday was the start of the 10 week Celebration of Fine Art exhibit in Scottsdale. It was wonderful to visit with artists that I don't usually have the opportunity to see with life demands and states separating us as well as meeting new artists.

If you have never had the opportunity to go to Celebration it is both artists gallery displays and working studios combined from all over the country. The energy that surrounds this wonderful venue is contagious and watching the artists create beautiful works always inspires me to push my boundaries.

Tomorrow I will be back out there with 2 artist friends of mine gaining inspiration and education. Over the next 10 weeks Celebration will become my classroom!

Please visit my website often as I am always creating and feel free to sign up to be notified of new works as they are posted. Your email address is never revealed to anyone.

Have a wonderful Monday and may it be filled with love...Amy©

"Brilliant Cloud Formation" ~ Amy Tuso ~ Daily Abstract Painter ~ Fountain Hills, AZ

"Brilliant Cloud Formation"
Oil Abstract

The first image is the original painting as I saw it in my mind and measures 36"x18"x1.5".

The second image is how my imagination is seeing it today and measures 18"x36"x1.5".

All abstract art, in my opinion, should allow the viewer the option of how they want to display it as it "speaks" to their soul. It is this reason that I do not sign the front of my abstract pieces which allows that freedom of choice. My signature is on the back of the canvas along with the name of the piece.

The reason I chose this particular piece is that yesterday I needed some "centering" and decided to sit in the sun on our balcony which overlooks the mountains. As I was praying for some calming to enter and center me I noticed there was one lone, miss-shaped cloud in the sky. I silently sent my intention to the cloud asking if I could use it as a vessel to release my angst. I dug deep within my soul and deliberately placed each upsetting issue/feeling/fear in the seat of the cloud. As I was loading the cloud the bottom color changed and I realized it was full of my intended issues.

I sat silently watching as the cloud began to dissipate and wisps of it disappeared into the sky until there remained one lone, small fluff that drifted off. With this, I realized that I felt much calmer and lighter. I gave thanks to the cloud, the universe and our Creator.

Peace be with you today and all of your tomorrows...Amy©

"Cowgirl With Attitude" ~ Amy Tuso ~ Daily Painter

24" x 20" x 1.5"

Cowgirl With Attitude

This beautiful, western inspired oil on acrylic background is not found on my website but is hanging in my gallery. If you are interested in learning more about this particular gem please contact Amy directly.

I spent a wonderful day yesterday with a friend in one of our "open studio" painting sessions working on a new western inspired piece that is 95% completed. Working on my new piece reminded me of "Cowgirl With Attitude" and just how much I love it!

Living in the desert southwest I tend to forget to stop and look around me to appreciated the beauty and vastly different lifestyle than I was raised in. Not that far from our home there is a stretch of ranch, after ranch, after ranch, nestled in the foothills of the McDowell mountains amongst twisted mesquite, creosote trees and ancient saguaro cacti along with the many other various cacti surviving decades into centuries. Hawks and eagles can be seen soaring in the brillantly painted blue sky as well as the lone coyote searching for a meal.

I am reminded today that I have a need for my own "attitude adjustment" as I breathe in the beauty that surrounds me.

May you find peace, light and love within today...Amy©

Time Passes ~ Amy Tuso ~ Fountain Hills, AZ

"Time Passes"
40" x 30" x 1.5"
Oil

Traveling the back roads of the southwest on our Harley, we frequently go through very small villages where time has left its mark of the past and integrates with the present moving onto the future. I can sense the hope that was once there when the original people of the village dropped their roots. Sometimes there is a feeling of joyful expectations. Other times there is a deep sense of struggle and loss. Mostly there is a sense of community whatever the outcome was or the future promises.

This painting depicts the past with the grave markings of the cross and decaying buildings, the present with the rehabilitated houses and the future through worship in the church with the door wide open.

I think that we all walk through stages of joyful expectations, deep struggles and loss towards the promises of the future each and everyday.

Give thanks for the abundance (not necessarily monetary - in fact - not tangible but soulful) of the past, present and future with pure intention and be open to blessings from the universe!

Wishing you an abundant day filled with light and love...Amy©

"Red Dress" ~ Amy Tuso

"Red Dress"
48" x 24" x 1.5"
Oil
Gallery Wrapped Canvas

This painting was originally done as a "study" and evolved into a very sensual piece of art.

My imaginative story goes like this...they have just returned home from an evening out on the town where they enjoyed a marvelously delicious dinner. They decided to go to a jazz club to enjoy some soulful music spending a few hours dancing and enjoying each others' company.

The evening has come to a close and they are retiring to their master suite...from here...let your imagination finish the story.

This particular piece is not on my website but is available.

Here's to a very lovely Saturday nite :}

"Glamoured Bird" ~ Amy Tuso

"Glamoured Bird"
30" x 10" x 1.5"
Gallery Wrapped Canvas

This whimsical, acrylic painting is just plain fun and always brings smiles to the face of the beholder! This is not on my website, but if you are interested or would like more info about this piece, please contact me directly.

I hope that every ones first full week of this new year has been a good one. I've been busy with several projects and appointments. I have been able to work in my early morning walk around the lake. The park in Fountain Hills is really beautiful as it is set against the mountains and I am greeted by the sun rising as it peeks over 4 Peaks. Our lake is really full of visiting pinhead ducks, and Coots which look like Puffins. Than there are the resident ducks and egrets along with a few blue herons.

I cherish my walks as they are really walking meditations and prayer of gratitude experiences. What better setting than this, to acknowledge the bounty that life and God offers.

Sending peace, light and love to all...Amy©

Both of these paintings are being entered into the Fountain Hills Cultural & Civic Association Juried Art Show today. I realize that I have posted both of them on my blog recently, but thought that perhaps you sending some good vibrations over this way may help them walk away with a ribbon!
My schedule is very full in the upcoming future with several pieces being created, attending Celebration of Fine Arts as a patron starting next week through March, joining the Sonoran Art League and my continued work on Daily Painters Abstract Gallery. What fun to be able to do what my soul sings out for!
Don't forget that I am running a special on my website in the "Studio Specials" gallery where pricing is negotiable...but than, I am always willing to work with pricing and my collectors.

"Floating Bud" Vibrant Oil Abstract - Amy Tuso

"Floating Bud"
40"x30"x1.5"
Oil

This is one of my favorite paintings. As with all art, viewing the piece in person allows you to see the individual brush strokes that create movement and the colors are true. Even with the most sophisticated photo shop programs, not everything comes through the translation from canvas to image.

Today marks the final day of the holiday season at our house as tomorrow brings back our usual schedules of work, appointments and chores.

It is my desire to move forward into this new year with hope, patience, love and a return to anticipation through the heart of innocence. There is so much sadness, worry, fear...etc. in this world that we can become overwhelmed and carry a sense of impotence. I have made a commitment to myself that I will not become entrapped in all the mess. Instead, I will continue to pray for all of mankind and turn the rest over to God. This will allow my inner child to come out and play, create, laugh and pass joy onto others.

Have a blessed day filled with laughter...Amy©
