"Sara" Textured Figure Art Of Multiple Layers Acrylic And Glaze Female Figure Daily Acrylic Painting by Arizona Artist Amy Tuso

"Sara"
Sold

It is very exciting to me when a new image arrives in my mind's eye.  It takes form as it whispers to my soul.  Colors start to appear as possibilities as well as textures and I pretty much see the completed piece.  Of course there are always surprises along the way but that makes it fun!

"Sara" found a new home yesterday...thank you Kristy! "Sara" is a relatively new piece and captured a lot of attention. I already have another piece of this type floating in my mind.

My husband and I are headed off to the Arabian Horse Show in Scottsdale this morning.  We will be both carrying cameras and shooting away.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend that brings relaxation, revitalization, peace, light and love into your home...blessings, Amy ©

Colorful Work in Progress of Farmland Barn Hay ~ Amy Tuso Fountain Hills, Arizona

Work in Progress
A few days ago I had posted an earlier photo of this farmland piece in progress and here it is with more work done to it.  I enjoy working with the buttery texture of oil - however it is a much slower process than working with acrylics as drying time is needed so layering can be done or corrections made.  As you can see my perspective on the barn was off and I did not notice the problem until I layed the first coat of oil onto it.  I'm not sure about leaving it yellow - or at least this shade of yellow.  This is part of my creative process...I never or rarely have set colors in mind as I begin to paint.  The piece speaks to me as it progresses and I intuitively choose the colors and tones and blendings.

All of this involves patience.  Wow...have I been struggling with patience!!  But, it's not unlike the fields that are portrayed in this piece.  There is a long time between the purchasing of the seeds, to the preparation of the fields, to the planting, watering and growing until it can be harvested.  Things grow in their own time...just as we must allow fate to move forward in its' own time.  Anything other than that is manipulation and usually there are repercussions involved if we try to get everything to move, develop or become on our perceived timeframe.

Let go and let God lead the way, choose the path and deliver us to a destination.  Patience :}

May you find patience, peace, love and light within your soul...Amy©

"Heartfelt" Colorful Beautiful Romantic Valentine Heart By Southwestern Daily Painter From Fountain Hills, Arizona ~ Amy Tuso

"Heartfelt"
20" x 16" x .25"
Oil Abstract

I really enjoy working with oils as they bring a buttery feel to the brush strokes.  A fellow artist shared with me that she uses Duo Aqua Oils by Holbein and I had since purchased a variety of coleurs.  They have a wonderful buttery smoothness and are a real pleasure to work with.  The majority of "Heartfelt" is done with Holbein Duo with the artwork continuing around the sides of the canvas making framing optional.

My thought process in creating this piece was home is where my heart is...for within my home there is peace, love, joy, creativity, compassion and just plain ole FUN!  The squares and rectangles represent the loves in my life and what we are together.  The heart emerged as I was laying down the red on that part of the canvas.  As soon as I saw the shape I decided it was meant to be there as a symbol of the emence love I feel for my family.

My wish for you is that you have enormous love within your family and for yourself.  Allow the love to overflow to those who are dear to your heart and your live.  Freely and frequently verbalize your love...

Happy Valentine's Day!

May you find peace, light and love today and all your tomorrows...Amy©

"Colorado Haystacks" ~ Colorful Mountains and Farmland Art Barn Oil Painting Western Art ~ Arizona Artist Amy Tuso

18" x 24" x 1.5"
"Colorado Haystakes"

An Oil Painting In-Progress

The background of this oil painting is dry enough that I am able to continue working on it.  I thought it would be fun to share a few stages with you, and so here it is after 3 different sittings/workings.  Today I will devote much time in creating subtle details and I will post the results with my next entry.

The idea for this oil painting came from a road trip on our Harley last summer.  We were headed from Scottsdale, AZ to Crested Butte, CO.  When we are taking motorcycle toad trips we always travel the back roads of America.  It is in doing so that we get to see and feel all the beauty that surrounds us.  I always have my camera in my jacket pocket and take numerous photos.

This particular painting is a result of a combination of 3 photos.  I really feel it has great potential and also, as I'm working on it...I can almost...almost feel the wind on my skin and smell the freshly cut fields.

May you day be one filled with heightened senses, light, peace and love...Amy©

"Sara" ~ Amy Tuso ~ Sonoran Desert of the Southwest

36"x 12" x 1.5"
Textural Layered Acrylic
"Sara"

There are times when photography let's me down...you cannot see the dimension and luminosity in the layered acrylic and glazed piece...I definitely woul benefit from a few photography courses.

This painting changes depending on the lighting and really is a visual pleasure.

My husband and I spent a very pleasant afternoon at The Celebration of Fine Arts in Scottsdale on Saturday.  He picked up a statue from Michael Jones who creates fabulous, unique, original sculptures.  He has a passion for ancient history and prehistoric cultures.  The piece we chose is based on an ancient pictograph from the Billings, Montana area.

I stopped by Michael's studio today to pick the statue up and it is awaiting my husband's return from work this evening.  Even after a long Monday, I am sure "His Moon Medicine" will erase the tensions of the day.

Have a peaceful night and lightfilled dreams of love...Amy©

"Copper Winged Nude" ~ Amy Tuso

24" x 18" x 1.5"
Metallic Copper and Texture with Black Acrylic

This painting reminds me of an angel and yesterday heaven recieved 2 beautiful angels within my circle of life.  One angel had a long history of medical stuggle and so he is now whole once again and at peace.  The other angel had her life stolen from her by an act of violence.  Her family and friends are left with a haunting question..."why"?

Death is a part of the circle of life.  I have a very strong "knowing" that there is life after death in a wonderful, peaceful, loving heaven.

I pray for the friends and family who may be feeling the painful numbness of losing a loved one.  I ask that God embrace them with His light and love and that they may feel His peaceful spirit deep within their soul.

Please visit my website often as I am continually adding new art.

May we all find love, peace, joy and abundant light within us...Amy©

Clean Studio

Today is a rare day that I am not running off in more than one direction and actually had time to straighten up my studio.  I've been working on 3 oil paintings this past week.  I think the one on the left top easel  is complete, while the other 2 are in progress.

If you look under my desk there is an oil painting of our bassett ~ Webster.  He passed away several years ago but I keep his painting under my desk as that is where he would be sleeping if he were here with me...so in a way, he always is with me...at least in my heart.

I need to get back to work and send some images over to Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale before I pick up my paint brushes...so I'm off.

Wishing you a most productive, fun filled day...peace, light and love...Amy©

"Spirit Speaker" ~ Amy Tuso ~ Daily Painter from Arizona

"Spirit Speaker"
24" x 8" x 1.5"
Oil on Acrylic
Image is wrapped around side
of gallery wrapped canvas

"Spirit Speaker" is just one of the many paintings that can be found in my "Studio Specials Gallery" on my website. Click onto the Virtual Gallery page and it is the last gallery listed. I am in the process of re-organizing my studio and have several pieces that you can make an offer on in that gallery. Check it out and get in touch with me.

Last week I wrote about my feeling of struggling to hard. I am still "struggling" to reduce my tight grip and am finding it a daily "struggle"! My parents pushed me as a child to be an achiever...this is a good thing however it does tend to bleed over in to most areas of my life. Being an "A" personality comes along with the possibility of becoming ones own worst enemy due to constant judgement and re-evaluation of things. I'm working on this...and I can see that it will be an ongoing, daily task. The irony of this is I am struggling not to struggle! Good Grief! LOL!

I pray that we all can step back from our controlling selves long enough to allow our self to just be who we are. As for me...I'm taking the day off to spend some time with my girlfriends at Celebration of Fine Arts in Scottsdale.

Peace, light, joy and no pressure....Amy©
