"Souls' Journey" ~ Amy Tuso

30" x 30" Oil
This painting tells a story of the journey we all face. There are times that your thought process is gifted with clarity and we know without a doubt which way to go. There are other times that something rocks our world and be it fear or just confusion reign our day. The fact remains, however, that we must find our way and so we do the best we can within and without.
In this painting this woman appears to be floating in a sea of confusion. There are outside forces that are pulling her this way and that. Some are working in tantum as depicted by the direction of the openings and than there is an opposing force - or - is it just a different choice presenting itself?
If you would to view this painting in person or if you go to my virtual gallery
and view this painting with the help of the "magnifier" you can see more than first meets the eye by viewing the woman up close. To the right of her is her "essence" eminating from her soul, reaching upward to the Divine presence that embraces her. She has a very peaceful, although subtle, expression on her face. There are a few chakras that are highlighted as she is having difficulty finding her voice, but yet her heart is bright and she is aware of her "gut" instinct and at peace within her solar plexis.
Somehow, through her confusion, she has a "knowing" that all will unfold as it is meant to be. She has a strong faith and believes that He will lead her or He will place someone in her path that also has her well-being at heart.
I've chosen this painting today as I feel I have been on many journies lately. Some have been difficult. Others have helped me escape. But I have grown with each journey and am blessed and give thanks.
Please visit my website and blogs, as well as the Daily Painters Gallery that I have the pleasure of being associated with...but most of all - have a wonderful Monday and week ahead.

"Cypripedium Lady Slipper Orchid" ~ Amy Tuso

14" x 11" x 1.5" Oil on acrylic background
This appears to be a botanical day for me, as each posting I did on my 2 blogs and for the Abstract Gallery that I'm associated with had me choosing beautiful flowers.
Flowers come from God's paintbox. The colors and textures of each plant are uniquely their own. Although they belong to certain families and share similarities, each flower is a piece of beauty.
I suppose the same could be said for the human race. We are all from the same family but yet, we are all uniquely different. And just as being a member of a specific family, there are always issues and differences to be dealt with in the family unit. Sometimes the difficulties bring us closer and make our unit stronger...other times just the opposite happens and estrangements occur. At times the issues seem to be too heavy to bear but strength can be found within these situations with conscious effort.
As I listen to the news each day, my heart aches. Being part of this extended family of humans, I wish that we would take more time to realize that we all affect each other. I wish that we could deal with our differences with more conscious effort and less ego, less greed, so we could become stronger within and stop the struggling that leads to estrangements. Replace all of that with some understanding and compassion. Afterall, we are all a unique creation from God's paint box.
My wish for today is that you gain a sense of peace and be surrounded by the light and love of the Divine.

Immersion

Immersion
36" x 36" x 1.5"
Naming my paintings is a process. Sometimes the names pop into my head during the creation of the piece. Other times I need to sit down and meditate with the painting to hear the name emerge. With this particular painting however the process just seemed to happen within its' own time frame. I had been looking at the piece and contemplating what it should be called and I heard nothing. Kind of like a "writer's block" I suppose. With the painting on my mind, I moved onto doing other things and it was while I was reading something, "Immersion" just popped into my head and I knew that was this beauties name. Perfect!
Immersion - like a baptism. Becoming one with another. Accepting and committing oneself.
While I was laying the many layers of paint on this piece yesterday, I did feel as if I was working with water and the reflection of water itself. Duality - you know - like the other part of yourself or another. May sound weird but...whatever. It makes sense to my creative self and I hope that you gain a sense of cleansing and peacefulness when you look at this beautiful piece.
If you are interested in purchasing "Immersion", please contact me.
Take some time and enjoy a leisurely viewing experience by visiting my numerous galleries on my website.
Have a wonderful day. Amy

"Embellished Deer" ~ Amy Tuso

This fun, whimsical painting was inspired by another artist, Jenny Foster, and is my interpretation of her style.
This is hanging in my guest room and reminds me not to take everything so seriously. My goodness, don't we all have enough things that demand our undivided attention in our life that we must deal with! It is mandatory that we find spaces and places where we can just be in our comfort zone and that is exactly how I want my guests to feel. Relaxed, comfortable, carefree and calm during their stay.
There are many times that I will go into that room and lay down on the bed to just exhale and than inhale the peace and an inevitable smile appears when I open my eyes and look at this charming acrylic and metallic painting.
On this Monday, one of my desires for you is to slowly exhale the demands in your life and deeply inhale the peace and joy that the universe wants you to enjoy. Smile at someone today and enjoy the smile that will appear in return.
Peace be within you today and all your tomorrows...Amy

"Geometric Free Flowing Canvas"

Geometric Free Flowing Canvas 30" x 26"
I'm very excited about this piece as I was trying something that I haven't done in the past.
I started this artwork with a piece of raw canvas and applied Venetian Red gesso instead of white gesso to prime the canvas getting it ready for paint. I wanted to make the geometric pieces opaque so one could see the underlying and overlapping piece, but had never attempted it. After laying down the first coat and obtaining the shapes, I glazed the canvas and went about painting with a knife and brush on top of the glaze. I glazed the painting once more and used my knife and brush to paint on top of the new glaze until I felt the piece was done.
Unfortunately the camera did not capture the depth and dimension the multiple layers of glaze and paint accomplished, and you can barely tell that there is metallic silver in the painting. I am very happy with the final outcome and will repeat this procedure in my future artwork.
Attempting something new, be it art or a sport or a new study, is very daunting to me and I would guess to others as well. We get so comfortable with doing the same things in our lives that it is very easy to get into a rut. Trying new things and reaching out of our comfort zones can bring amazing results as well as much joy and pride. So go on, do whatever it is that you have been contemplating trying. There is absolutely nothing to lose!
Please visit my website and take a leisurely tour through my virtual galleries. I just added "Free Flowing Canvas Gallery" which has several pieces that give you 100% control as to how you display the art. I have the piece above tacked to the wall as a fabric painting and it looks really cool.

"Peace" by Arizona Daily Painter ~ Artist Amy Tuso

20"x 16" x 1.5" Oil on gallery wrapped canvas
This beautiful painting invokes all of us to seek peace within themselves and within our world.
We are in such turmoil throughout this world that it becomes easy as an individual to become somewhat apathetic to all that is happening. We may feel we have no power or influence to change anything. It is my believe that if we take the time to look within ourselves and confront our own demons we can provoke change. It all starts with each one of us. This takes a lot of work and is not just a "one time" deal. Do it daily and gain the sense of calmness for yourself.
Whatever your believe system is, please ask for guidance. Be it from God, Buddha, Great Mystery, Spirit or whomever speaks to your soul - ask for help. Ask with pure intention, with your heart and than listen. Become aware of what is around you. The guidance comes in many guises and you will need to listen to your intuition - but please do listen. When something speaks to your "gut" - listen and move from there.
Pray for humankind, for Mother Earth and Father Sky. Pray for whatever speaks to your soul but please pray for Peace. We can make a difference. If we are peaceful within ourselves we project that peace to others and hopefully they will look within themselves and the peace movement has gained momentum. One person, one soul at a time.
May you have a peaceful day filled with joy, light and love.

"Healing Fields" ~ Amy Tuso

“Healing Fields”
Oil Abstract With Emerging Hummingbird

There are times that I hear the name of a painting prior to putting paint to canvas. It usually will happen as I am visualizing the colors and textures I would like to manifest.

This was the case with “Healing Fields” but over the period of time that this painting was actually coming to life it went through a change that surprised me on the final day.

I had an image in my minds eye that an abstract floating flower should be somewhere. However, as I picked up my paint-loaded brush to introduce this flower I had a nagging instinct that a flower was not meant to be afterall.

Almost simultaneously with that thought process I saw this beautiful hummingbird appearing on the canvas. The hummingbird came together almost effortlessly along with a sense of calming.

In Native American culture, the hummingbird represents love, opening the heart to the celestial magic and as it sings its Hummer song there is a vibration of pure joy.

During the process of creating this lovely painting, I knew that this piece was to be "gifted" to a friend of mine. Later at dinner that evening, Jack told me that he thought I should gift her with “Healing Fields”. I had already made this decision prior to hearing Jack say it, which to me was just another acknowlegement that we are all of one thought.

As I have mentioned in the previous days posting, I myself am going through a rough illness and so this particular painting is speaking to me now and asking that I place myself in the "Healing Field" remembering that His divine wisdom and healing hands are holding me.

~Love, light, peace and healing to us all! Have a blessed Wednesday~

"Seeing" Arizona Daily Painter ~ Amy Tuso

8" x 6" Canvas
Contact me to purchase ~ Amy.
"Seeing" is a small, frame-ready, textured, acrylic abstract. As you may be able to tell, I feel the power of the color red and use it often within my art. In this particular piece the starkness of the white is meant to draw your eye to the crack in the wall or psyche, where vision or an idea becomes clearer. Or it could represent the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel" as I am "seeing" it today.
As I have written in the past few days, I am slowly recovering from a nasty bout of illness and I really do see that light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, it seems to taking it's good ole' time but nonetheless, it's closer.
I am moving forward with my day now that I have finished a few of my necessary chores and am going to get out a new project that I am experiementing with. Hopefully I will have it done to share within a few days.
I did want to share my excitement about an ad that I am involved with in September's issue of American Art Collector. I am associated with a wonderful group of abstract artists and post to their gallery daily. We pulled our funds and have a group ad on page 102 of American Art Collector for our Daily Painters Abstract Gallery. It is really awesome and wonderful to see my work in print with a group of most talented artists!
Please visit my website as often as you can...the more hits I log helps me to move up in the "search engines" which in turn helps others to get to know me :}
Have a wonderful Monday...peace, light and love...

Cityscape ~ Amy Tuso

Cityscape
12" x 36" x 1.5"
I absolutely love this painting. It felt good from concept, to laying down the texture medium and as I sat in front of my acrylic paints I was lead to which colors to apply. There are 5 different colors blended that give the appearance of shadows and light.
This will be announced on my website tomorrow morning. Take a few minutes, check out my website and sign up to notified of new art as it is posted.
For now, I'm off to get Jack some pizza for lunch and settle in to watch Nascar...finally it is not rained out on Sunday!

"Copper Haze" Abstract Oil Painting by Arizona Daily Painter, Amy Tuso

"Copper Haze" 12" x 16" x 1.5"
Gallery Wrapped Oil Abstract
Happy Saturday! The painting that I am sharing today well represents how I am feeling. It is entitled "Copper Haze" and as I have been rather ill the last 3 weeks, today I definitely see improvement...Glory, Glory!!
This is one thing that everyone can identify with I am sure. We all have periods of time when we are under the weather and the longer the illness hangs on, there are those moments when we fall into a self pity party. I, for one, do not enjoy these parties at all and actually have very little tolerance for myself when I allow this to happen.
I use the word "allow" because I firmly believe that we all have the ultimate control as to how we allow our minds to wonder. The trick is catching yourself early on before you are drunk with self pity.
Over the last few weeks I have prayed l and turned things over to God and Great Spirit knowing that with divine guidance my body would speak to me about the lessons I was learning with the experience of this particular illness.
No matter what, no matter how painful or frustrating...there are always positive lessons within and I thank God that I can recognize and learn on an ongoing basis.
I hope everyone has a glory, glory weekend!

"Moving Towards The Future" ~ Amy Tuso

"Moving Towards The Future"
As this is the launch on my daily blog, I felt it was appropriate to introduce myself with this particular painting as I am moving towards the future. It is my hope that in sharing my daily journey with you that we may find a common ground. After all, aren't we all taking one step at a time with the hope that we are making positive gains in our lives and the lives of people we interact with.
My journey began 54 years ago in a private hospital located in Ventnor, NJ which was steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. It may explain my love of the sea, the sounds just rock me into a peaceful joy and serene being. I now live in Fountain Hills, AZ. Talk about contrast! But I equally love the Sonoran Desert. I am trained in medical secretarial science and worked for several years in that field becoming a Certified Medical Assistant at the urging of a thoracic surgeon that I was working for at that time. Studying for the Medical Boards was daunting for me and I was so proud when I passed the examination. I married to my wonderful husband and high school sweetheart over 31 years ago. Jack still brings butterflies to my soul when I think of him. Anyway, we bought an electrical supply distribution house and worked side-by-side for 13 years. I "retired" to take care of a health crisis that confronted me, and from there moved on to taking care of my aging relatives. After helping them through to the end of their life I decided a change of scene was needed for my soul to replenish and grow. Jack and I decide to sell our home and relocate to the desert southwest. Over 11 years later, we still love it here! My dad passed a few years ago while he and mom were living in Santa Fe (they got the bug to move also!) and now mom is here with us in Fountain Hills in her condo around the block.
Several years ago I had a near death experience and came out of that with a love of art full of color and joy...and here I am.
I launced my new website earlier this year, connected with Laurie Justic Pace in Texas and Kimberly Conrad in Colorado joining her Daily Abstract Gallery, and decided that it was time that I share my journey with art to anyone who may be interested.
I am "Moving Towards The Future"...and what a wonderful future it is!
I would love to hear from you, so please comment on my paintings, become a follower and feel free to email.
